Mike Calhoun is the author of Pushing the Limits: Unleashing the Potential of Student Ministry, and The Greenhouse Project--Cultivating Students of Influence. He continues an ongoing writing ministry and has produced multiple DVD's for teens and local church leaders. He maintains a full travel schedule; preaching both nationally and internationally in churches, youth events, leadership conferences, and colleges and seminaries.

Mike makes his home in Schroon Lake, New York, with his wife, Betsi, who has an ongoing teaching and writing ministry to ladies and teen girls. They have three grown children: Misty (with the Lord), Joshua (wife: Kim) and Caleb (wife: Beth).

Ric Garland is the Vice President of Word of Life Local Church Ministries. He has served with WOL for thirty years; twenty-five of those years have been spent with Local Church Ministries and five years as the Vice President of the Word of Life Bible Institute. He is passionate and purposed in helping others to live biblically principled lives. His ministry includes speaking and teaching around the world, discipling, leading, and developing.

Ric is married to Ellen, his partner in ministry and the love of his life.  He has three amazing children: Nicole, Eric and Shannon.  

Mike & Ric are not strangers to tragedy. Years ago, Ric's engagement came to an end when his fiance took her own life. Mike came face to face with his own “Where Was God?” experience seven years ago when his daughter Misty went to be home with the Lord in a car accident. Both men have been forced to honestly ask God "why," and both were driven to stronger relationships with God by the asking. They approach this topic not as experts, but as friends. All of us will find ourselves on the road of sorrow and doubt at some point in our Christian experience. Mike and Ric walk alongside, and point out the pitfalls that we all must learn to avoid.
